Freshford House

We have been studying the History of Bloemfontein so I took the kids to Freshford House which is about 3km from us. It was built in 1897 and some of the original furniture and gadgets are still in the house! It is a museum and we went on a guided tour with a lovely, friendly elderly lady. She explained the uses of all the funny gadgets like the clothes press, glove expander, coal stove etc! The kids were fascinated and want to go back there! We were not allowed to take photos in the house, only of the beautiful garden.

Hair cuts!

Jordy was in girly heaven! She loves being pampered. The night before in the bath she asked me if she could shave her legs! I told her she must wait a few years!

Tshepang Place of Safety

Faith and Jason. Faith is in Tshepang place of safety but she is going to be adopted soon.

My friend, Ilze, took her Gr 11 daughter and 3 of her friends to Tshepang as they wanted to do community work. The girls did some painting with the kids and also gave them cupcakes!

Night at the Museum

On the 20th September at 10 pm, we went to the museum for something special! It was pretty chilly but the kids were so excited to be out so late at night, although Jason slept through the entire evening in the pouch!

The museum was full of people dressed up as certain characters and some were pretty scary!

This character was in a dark passage and Jordy and I walked in and came face to face with him in the dark - we ran out screaming but went back a  bit later to take this pic!!
