Modder river

We spent the day at Paul and Sue's holiday house on the Modder River, about 25kms from our house. We had an amazing day and Callyn and Jordy had such fun with Manuela (16), Amy (14) and Rachael (10).

......that 10 years ago today we got married?!!!!

And Abby was only 2 years and 9 months and Joel was 6 months old! What a special day!

Life is fun....

Liza's little girl, Precious, is visiting for the holidays and Callyn and Jordy have been playing a lot with her.

According to Jordy, Callyn taught her how to pedal! When she learns to do something new she always gives her big brother the credit!

This has been Donovan's hang out at night for the last 2 weeks and the kids love cuddling with him on the matrass!

Another accident!

......and this was a few minutes later! It just broke in half and Callyn ended up with roasties on his knuckles, elbow and both knees! His one knee was bleeding quite a bit so we rushed inside to clean it up and just left the bike lying there so Donovan took a few pics!

A daddy pigeon is building nest for the mommy pigeon and the kids have been watching the whole process. The nest is on top of one of the columns under thatch. It's quite fascinating as the mommy throws out all the pieces of twigs that she doesn't like and daddy must just fetch more.....

This is little Caleb (6 months). Jordy loves him to bits and even shared a bit of her muffin with him (he's not on solids yet!). His Mom had to quickly scoop it out as we didn't think it wise to start his first foods with bran muffins!

Ok, so the other day I posted a pic of Donovan's new kit........well, this is what it looks like now!

On Sunday he was on his second lap at the motor cross track when he had a bit of a wipe out. His friends took him to hospital and the kiddies and I met him there. We had to cut him out of his new top as he couldn't move! He has broken his clavicle (collar bone) and is going in for surgery tomorrow to have a pin put in as it is quite a bad break. He also injured the ligaments of his left thumb a few months ago so he having that fixed at the same time. Luckily he was wearing his neck brace and new protective gear as well, as he might have broken his neck if it wasn't for that.

So we are off to hospital yet again....thought this was going to be a hospital free year! And thank goodness all will be healed by November when he we fly to New Zealand!
