Baking

Sintiche and Jordy bkaed a chocolate cake almost entirely by themselves! Jordy read from the recipe book and told me exactly how much of everything was needed!

The best part of baking!!!

They iced it all by themselves and yes there was more icing than cake!

The boys joined in just in time!!! It wasn't anybody's birthday but they wanted to light the candles themselves!

Winter

Jordy decided to have a dip the other day - the water was 10 degrees and the air temperature was 16 degrees!
Jordy passed out on the couch while her Daddy played with her hair! Callyn loves giving her a kiss once she is alseep!
Snow in Bloemfontein! We had such a  fun time on Tuesday when it snowed almost all morning. I let the kids play outside for ages. lCallyn tried to catch the snow in his mouth! It was just a pity that the snow didn't settle. We don't even get frost, as our garden is protected.

July

We had a painting day - first they painted their faces, then polystyrene objects, then splatter painting with toothbrushes. After all that activity they soaked in a  bubble bath for an hour to get all the paint and make up off!

July

My kind and considerate little girl made me a very special vegetarian meal as she knows I don't eat meat - thats my food in the red bowl!

We are working on a lapbook (project) for the Olympics! Its a team effort and they have both been working hard and learning a lot about the history ofthe Olympics. They are excited for it to start today!

My little defroster of freezers - he helps me everytime, in fact he does it all himself!

They had fun playing with the ice afterwards and the lego boat!

Remember these? These must be over 40 years old!

A kiddies Jenga game!

Working a bit more on the lapbook!

Callyn, Jordy and I are working on a project for the kiddies at Tshepang Place of Safety. There are 11 children there at the moment and we visit them regularly. Callyn loves playing with the boys and it is always difficult to leave. Last time we were there one of the boys didn't have winter shoes so Callyn gave him his takkies. He was quite happy to go home bare foot. We have made money tins for each kid and my generous friends have taken on or two tins each and they will fill them with their change! By the end of the year they will buy their "child" a lovely Christmas present. I will get a wish list from the lady who cares for them so that they each get something they really want!

We are all better now except for Callyn's cough....and now Donovan thinks he has a kidney stone.....so watch this space!

It was very cold yesterday so after riding her bike outside, Jordy was a bit chilly so I ran her a big bubble bath!
We switched on the jets and the bubbles grew and grew and grew!
Callyn came to have a look and he decided to bath too!

 What fun!!!
